This 2,400-square-foot project involved a major renovation of the home's kitchen, bar, laundry and powder room by ReFind Kitchens, a zero waste residential design firm specializing in the deconstruction and re-purposing of luxury kitchens and baths. By using reclaimed and custom casework, countertops and appliances, over 4,000 pounds of luxury building materials were diverted from landfill to achieve this elegant mid-century design. The majority came from two deconstructions of homes in Cardiff-by-the-Sea and Carlsbad. The buyers saved over $70,000 without sacrificing form or function.
